Why would I need a job? My mother isn’t making me pay rent. Besides, my contract here runs out soon anyway, so I have no choice but to go back home. And an artist? :( But those people are scary, they’re so… ginger. :P

Good for her… lol but a bit of income helps! If you’re wanting to make a commercial game you also have licenses to pay for. Pft, I hear only the good ones are slightly ginger ;)

Nahh dude, not paying the ridiculous amounts that my uni charges for placements. :/ But what’s stopping me from working on a game in my year off anyway? I have a few ideas and more than enough skill to implement them. :D

If you think you have the skillz go for it, but find yourself a nice artist or fellow students who might want to join in. You’ll need a part-time job aswell to keep you going.

You’re probably right but just think about it carefully :) taking a year out can be good for most people. I would’ve assumed you had a placement sorted out for your type of course.
